Services

I offer Humanistic Counselling (a blend of Person Centered, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches), which emphasises the value of the therapeutic relationship. I endeavour to create a safe, supportive environment where you are able to explore whatever you need to explore - in your own time - facilitating change and the natural human tendency towards growth. I am an embodied practitioner, meaning I am curious about the way emotions are reflected in the physical body and I will honour this aspect of self as well as your thought processes and emotional expression. I am also a complementary therapist specialised in women's health, which informs my approach and understanding. Please note the way I work does not lend itself to short-term or solution focussed therapy. Instead I offer a long-term, supportive relationship, becoming someone who is always on your side, and this relationship will naturally facilitate growth, development and change.
NB: to protect the unique nature of the counselling relationship, my complementary therapy services, support groups and taught courses are not available to counselling clients (past, present or future), and vice versa.

Individual Counselling

My style is highly supportive, with challenge where required but offered gently. I see counselling as a meeting of two equal individuals, where one (me) uses training and experience to support the other (you) in heightening your understanding of your Self, your patterns, your needs and wants. With this increased awareness comes the potential for choice, and with choice, the potential for change. I do not force you to talk about anything you are not ready to talk about, and I'm not trying to change you or give you advice on how to live your life. It might not always seem like it in times of trauma and anxiety, but you are the best expert on yourself - no one can truly know your inner world like you do - but I do my best to walk alongside you and understand your experience. The quality of our relationship is of utmost importance, and can offer a healing and reparative experience.

Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long, conducted weekly, generally always at the same time / same day. We would start with a phone call to see what brings you to look for a counsellor, then an initial session to explore your aims and whether we might be a good fit to work together. If this all feels right, then we will agree a further five exploratory sessions before re-assessing the direction for ongoing therapy.

My fee is £60 per session, and my therapy space is a 2 minute walk from Richmond station, with a free parking spot if required. Please consider the long term cost of therapy when deciding whether this work is right for you.

Please note, there is a cat in residence where I work, so if you have severe allergies this might not be right for you.

Corporate Counselling &
Employee Therapy

My pre-therapy background is in the corporate world, including over a decade in the Finance industry and HR. My passion to step into the gap and provide support to people in office-based work is rooted soundly in my own personal experience of how stressful this can be, and I aim to help redress the balance.

I offer two options for corporate clients (which can be combined depending on your needs). I can offer regular counselling sessions for your employees in your office, or my bespoke employee therapy sessions which can include any combination of emotional support (talking), guided meditation and breath-work (great for anxiety), or energy balancing (Reiki) - all valuable ways for employees to have a bit of time-out and decompression from their work in a confidential and non-judgemental space. Frequency of sessions would be negotiated between us.

I charge a day rate of £500, and per session fees are available for smaller numbers. Please contact me to discuss your needs and ideas.

Group sessions can also be arranged for your employees / teams including activities such as guided meditation and body-based mindfulness practice - we can be very creative with this, let me know what you imagine!

If you are responsible for HR in your organisation and require assistance with your wellbeing and/or workplace mental health agenda, please see my corporate consultancy work at www.inhousewellbeing.com
